Towards countries that care: advocating a new national outcome on care for the National Performance Framework in Scotland

Abstract

We are currently advocating A New National Outcome on Care for the National Performance Framework (NPF) in Scotland. The background to this, and the Scottish social care context is outlined. The NPF system is described, and the invisibility of social care in this. The new outcome proposal development process is described, and the content of the proposed outcome and indicators. Our current campaign & future plan are set out. In conclusion we look at lessons to date, lessons to come; connections of the NPF to integrated care enablers; and some International implications.
