The role of the clinical practice educator in endoscopy

    Abstract

    Presentation on the emergence of and role of a clinical practice educator (CPE) within Endoscopy, providing insight into:
    • developing the role and overview of the many titles for educator
    • educational activities that CPE could be involved in to reach the highest number of staff in time allowed eg study sessions, newsletter, condition of the month
    • staff competency assessments & recording
    • opportunities to support the development of staff
    • managing nursing student placements, educational audits & developing interactive student booklets.
    Concluding with positive outcomes - examples of feedback from education sessions, student feedback and staff development.
