Abstract
Human capital is explained in terms of economic growth, and more specifically, it has been linked to entrepreneurial performance as human capital plays an important role with respect to entrepreneurial know-how. But many women are generally disadvantaged in Africa as they are not able to access human capital. Women enterprises in Africa are still within the domain of traditional and informal sectors which do not contribute significantly to the economic development of the nation. This chapter aims to draw up an analysis of the impact of human capital on female entrepreneurship performance with a theoretical perspective of the human capital theory (HCT). Some recommendations are presented in order to support the Nigerian government initiatives and the effect on women-owned business performance in enhancing the economic growth of Nigeria.
