Abstract

Employee well-being is increasingly recognised as a fundamental aspect of organizational success. It can influence job satisfaction, employee engagement, productivity, and overall organizational health (Bakker & Demerouti, 2007). Employee well-being encompasses various dimensions, including psychological health, emotional stability, job satisfaction, and the ability to maintain a balance between work and life. Research suggests that leadership plays a central role in shaping employee well-being through practice, the shaping of organizational culture and the creation of work environments (Avery & Bergsteiner, 2011). This research aims to examine employee wellbeing through the lens of sustainable leadership, which emphasizes ethical decision-making, long-term value creation, and social responsibility. While the impact of various leadership styles on organizational outcomes is well-documented, the direct connection between sustainable leadership and employee well-being remains an underexplored area of research (Metcalf & Benn, 2013). This research contributes to filling this gap by examining how sustainable leadership can impact on employee wellbeing by exploring its impact on psychological and physical health, wellbeing and nurtures a supportive and resilient work environment (Liu & Wang, 2021).
