Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

The Working for Families Fund was an initiative set up by the Scottish Government to contribute to their strategy of tackling poverty and disadvantage by improving the rates of employment and economic activity of disadvantaged parents with childcare responsibilities. The core of the paper is based on a four-year evaluation of this programme by a team including the authors. This paper therefore draws on the various forms of data collection and used during the evaluation and describes the WFF initiative, its implementation and the support it provided to the targeted
groups, focusing especially on the childcare support offered. The paper also illustrates the aims and barriers of those taking part in the programme, and presents the outcomes achieved by the Fund.
