Abstract
Strata and Struktur are two series of 10 photographic works each tackling the aesthetics of flowers outside their natural environment, in complementary ways.
By means of a source of light and painted rice paper, the images in Strata blur the contour of the flowers and expand their color, which becomes a shapeless conveyor of sensations, filtered by the texture of the paper. In Struktur, the reminders of the natural origin of the flower, such as leaves, pistils and peduncles, are eliminated to create an aseptic environment providing an essentially structural experience.
