The work is a collection of songs and compositions, a combination of new works and new interpretations of traditional Scottish Gaelic song. The project utilises electronic soundscapes in the medium of traditional music to story tell in a way the authors could not have envisioned. The manipulation of field recordings, electronic sound textures and orchestration print emotions in a unique form, the coalescing of Sonic’s define the narrative of the work. The work blends the idea of human desolation and a mournful sound in nature. The project engages with music technology and develops a strategy for music composition, arrangement, communication and storytelling utilising a digital audio workstation as an instrument.
