Abstract
This paper is part of a study examining the development of Religious Education in the Junior Secondary School system in Botswana. The present paper gives special attention to the changes that have taken place in the Junior Certificate Religious Education syllabus when government introduced a new syllabus in 1996. This syllabus rejects all forms of confessionalism an adopts a multi-religious model of and approach to Religious Education.
