    Abstract

    Examining the continuation of Queen after the untimely passing of Freddie Mercury. This chapter considers Mercury's significance, including some of the ingredients he brought to Queen and the consequential challenges for the surviving band members continuing without him. The chapter considers a number of post Mercury activities including the Mercury Phoenix Tribute Concert, Paul Rodgers and Queen, Queen + Adam Lambert, the Queen Extravaganza and Tom Chaplain's Queen activities. Consideration is also taken with relation to the legacy of what is often described as the ‘classic’ line-up and Queen + Adam Lambert, in this chapter Old Queen, New Queen.
