Abstract
In September 2010, nurse lecturers at the University of the West of Scotland introduced a holistic, integrated teaching approach to engage students with essential nursing skills. This article discusses how the integrated approach was introduced and how it was used to teach students to measure vital signs. It also provides an evaluation of the approach and recommendations for further development.
