This article explores the pathophysiology of lipoedema, and the changes to the lymphatic system in someone with lipoedema. It aims to identify some of the challenges for individuals who live with lipoedema complicated by secondary lymphoedema, and provides information for health professionals in managing associated problems such as cellulitis.
