Abstract

The aim of this paper is to discuss the learning mechanisms for an inter-organizational project. We study how inter-organizational project disseminate the learning (ability to transfer learning/lessons to other projects or parts of the organization). For this purpose, we closely examined the Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro project in Pakistan. Using a grounded theory approach, data for this study was collected through interviews, archival data, and illustrative materials. We dissect learning mechanisms into two categories: (i) intra-organizational and (ii) inter-organizational learning mechanisms.
