Abstract

First appearing on our television screens in 2002, the competitive reality show I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! has been a popular staple of the British Autumn schedule for 20 years. But, as with any long-running series, staying fresh and relevant is essential if the programme is to survive and thrive in the highly competitive market for light entertainment television. This article explores Hancock's signing and what it means for the show.
