Abstract
Two new benzeneacetic acid derivatives, harpulliaside A (1) and harpulliaside B (2), together with five known flavonoid glycosides; quercetin-3-O-β-d-glucoside (3), kaempferol-3-O-β-d-glucoside (4), kaempferol-3-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-α-l-rhamnopyranoside (5), kaempferol-3-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 4)-α-l-rhamnopyranoside (6), and kaempferol-3-O-β-d-apiofuranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-d-glucopyranoside (7) were isolated and characterized for the first time from the leaves of Harpullia pendula. The structures of these compounds were established by 1D and 2D NMR experiments and HRESIMS analyses. The new compounds were assessed for their antibacterial effect against different Gram-positive and Gram negative bacterial strains.
