Abstract
In accordance with the assumptions of Maseng and Bakken (1981), the distribution of rain fade slope on high frequency GSO links is calculated and its Cauchy approximation is presented. The conditional PDF of the fade slope is finally modelled for application to predictive rain fade mitigation techniques (FMTs).
