Abstract

This paper utilizes documentary data published by the DfE and composed by its inspectorate that assesses the qualities of school-led teacher training providers. It contracts this neoliberal discourse with a university, more academic provision of ITE and illustrates 'tradition' by reference to the icon of this model in the form of Lawrence Stenhouse. It is informed by the concept of moral economy found in the writings of the social historian E.P. Thompson.
