Abstract
Digitalisation is an essential development step within the corporate sector as a whole, while it is also a necessary innovation for ethnic minority entrepreneurs. This study investigates the digital behaviour of ethnic minority entrepreneurs in the UK. It addresses the potential that digitalisation holds within entrepreneurial business activities by describing its interconnection with innovation as a foundation. This theoretical exploration is then supported based on the responses of 31 ethnic minority entrepreneur interview participants before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their cultural experiences and technological knowledge and the related challenges and progress made during their digital entrepreneurial practices are identified and explored. The findings indicate that a lack of awareness regarding the digitalisation process is the major hindrance ethnic minority entrepreneurs currently face, while effective digitalisation relies on cultural belief, digital experiences and technological knowledge.
