    Abstract

    Discusses the application of the sociological concept of emotion work for midwifery to further develop an understanding of the nature of emotion work. Aids understanding of the value of developing emotional intelligence to benefit the process of relationship whilst recognizing the effect of satisfying and devitalizing emotion work in midwifery.
