    Abstract

This paper presents an overview of a PhD research project, completed tasks and future work. The aim of the research is to contribute to the improvement of gas identification systems at different levels by designing and implementing dedicated IP cores for data analysis, pre-processing, dimensionality reduction and pattern recognition algorithms. This PhD dissertation research is part of an ongoing funded research project by NPRP-Qatar Foundation which consists of the development of a low power reconfigurable self-calibrated multi-sensing platform for gas applications.
