Abstract

Due to the steady rise of successful new ventures within developing economies, the study explores the role of authentic entrepreneurial leaders within Nigeria's Igbo trade apprenticeship system. As successful entrepreneurship has expanded beyond the leaders' vision to capture its impact on followers and organisational performance. This study is necessary and timely because few scholars have offered descriptions of this emergent concept without attempting to define the concept. Consequently, the study will define authentic entrepreneurial leadership within the developing economy context and uncover the perceptions of apprentices within Nigeria's Igbo trade apprenticeship system.
