Abstract
Entrepreneurship has played a crucial role in driving economic growth and social stability in developed countries. This chapter explores the international dimensions of entrepreneurship education, emphasizing the importance of responding to global best practices, highlighting entrepreneurship education (EE) in Pakistan. The trend of entrepreneurship and EE research has increased in the country over the past decade. To better understand the evolution of EE research in Pakistan, this study aims to synthesize fragmented EE research and identify areas for future research. By examining peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2019 and 2022 in higher education institutions in Pakistan, the reviewed studies suggest that EE has a positive impact on individuals and societies by providing aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to start and run successful businesses. Sustainable and socially responsible entrepreneurship education is particularly important, and students have been found to benefit significantly from such programs. This study underscores the potential of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurship and promoting economic development in Pakistan, and this study contributes to the development of effective teaching and learning in EE, promoting long-term educational, economic, and social outcomes. The findings demonstrate how entrepreneurial education has become a distinct research theme within the context of a developing country, specifically Pakistan.
