Abstract

In the last seven years our biomechanical research at the Biomechanics Laboratory located at the University of the West of Scotland, UK has focused on tissue mechanics and biomechanics of the hand, foot and spine. More recently our research has applied some of these techniques in understanding some of the kinetics, kinematics and electromyography of the upper and lower body joints and muscles during golf swings and putting. This presentation will share some of the applied biomechanics research studies conducted in our laboratory, some of which have led to the development of medical devices within the field of health and sport.
