    A regular and fully functioning menstrual cycle is considered a ‘vital sign’ in assessing overall health in females. However, menstrual cycle-related symptoms can be disruptive, resulting in girls missing school, self-medicating, refraining from social interactions, physical activity, and sport due to a lack of preparation, knowledge and poor practices surrounding menstruation
