Project Details
Description
he proposed study aims to conduct a UK-wide Survey, as well as in-depth interviews, aimed at professionals across the spectrum of the UK music industries, to gather data on bullying, harassment and abuse (including sexual violence). This is the first national survey covering diverse experiences across professions in the UK music industries and is expected to generate significant media interest. The analysis, synthesis and presentation of the data will involve a media focused ‘key findings’ document that the team will disseminate upon completion of the project, In addition to producing peer-reviewed journal articles for submission to gender-based violence journals and music/creative arts journals, the team also aim to develop a ‘kite mark’ for the music industry sector to recognise and promote good practice. It is envisaged that the findings will lead to further research, focusing on the investigation and implementation of protection and prevention strategies in the music industries.
