In 2020, immediately prior to the pandemic, UWS piloted the Vice Chancellor’s Innovation Fund to stimulate innovation and creative practice, supporting the drive towards bold and ambitious strategic targets for 2025. Twelve projects were funded supporting developmental activities across the University (see below). Since then, UWS has made a massive shift towards hybrid delivery, transforming the student experience and introducing new social learning approaches.
This year, UWS will again invest in innovative projects that will build on our recent progress and support the journey towards Strategy 2025. Twenty bids were made for funding by project teams from across the university. The evaluation panel, which comprised a cross-section of UWS staff, were inspired by the ideas generated. Specifically, the wealth of technological innovations and those that support the shift towards hybrid delivery.
The successful bids were announced by Professor Mahoney at this years Learning and Teaching Conference on 17th June and will receive funding in the new financial year, with project progress monitored and reported through the Programme Management Office.
