Description

The COHEHRE Academy is an integrated part of COHEHRE. Its aim is to actively facilitate international, interdisciplinary, inter-professional cooperation and capacity building, amongst COHEHRE members.
The Academy acts as a platform, which initiates, supports and coordinates different activities. It offers opportunities to create, stimulate and intensify networking between partner institutions as well as to develop joint initiatives.
The Academy is a task force composed of two Council members and two invited members of COHEHRE institutions. This team discusses, establishes contacts, and develop ideas that may respond to partners expressed needs. Each project initiated by the Academy has its own coordinator, that can be a staff member of any COHEHRE institution.
Five objectives have been defined, which function as an overall framework for all the initiatives already taken or to be taken: (1): To enhance inter-professional cooperation within health education and rehabilitation; (2) To promote capacity building; (3) To Develop new products; (4) To disseminate outcomes of new or existing products of the COHEHRE Academy and (5) To act as a consultant.
In order to contribute to the 5 objectives defined, three areas of activity are being stimulated: Student mobility programmes with an inter-professional approach (six intensive programmes approved); Capacity Building and Faculty Development (autumn seminars, pre-conference workshops) and Curriculum Development. Many COHEHRE partners want to move their internationalization beyond student and staff mobility. Developing joint or double curricula can be a way to achieve more consistent international practices within health care education.
