Personal profile

Overview

I hold a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Papua New Guinea (PNG), a MSc in Inorganic Chemistry from the Northeast Normal University (China), and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow (UK). I have recently completed part-time online study at the University of Liverpool for a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP), a 60 credit Masters-level (Level 7) course leading to a professional teaching qualification and global recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I am currently undergoing Climate Change: Transforming your Organisation for Sustainability Micro-credential at the Open University.

I am an ASPIRE Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland. My role is to design and teach the ASPIRE modules, a strategic curriculum and a key UWS Curriculum Framework initiative with the primary objective to support students. The ASPIRE modules are designed to support students’ Academic, Professional, and Personal Development (APPD). I am focused on enhancing the portfolio of learning, teaching, and curriculum through the delivery, development, and implementation of this new module at UWS. I am specifically supporting this strategic curriculum initiative within the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS).

I have great interest in sustainable development, science policy, climate change policy, sustainable green chemistry, catalysis, food security, science awareness and science communication.
