Overview

Dr Volkan Tunali is a Senior Lecturer in Computing at the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences. Prior to joining UWS in October 2022, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Software Engineering, Maltepe University, Istanbul, Turkey, and as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Software Engineering, Manisa Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Turkey from 2012 to 2022. He taught both undergraduate and postgratuate level computer science and engineering subjects, and supervised a number of masters and PhD theses at these universities. Prior to his academic career, Volkan worked as a software engineer in a private software company, Istanbul, Turkey from 2001 to 2012.

 

He received the BSc and MSc degrees in computer engineering and the PhD degree in computer and control education from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2001, 2005, and 2012, respectively. His research interests include network science, social network analysis, text mining, data science, and software engineering. He is a member of ACM and IEEE.
