Research Interests

1. Outline areas of research expertise

My main areas of teaching are operatiions management and strategic management. I worked in the food industry for 8 years before joining UWS. I have provided consultancy on operations management for lcal business, supply chain workshops for Honey well in Scotlkand i experiencand in the USA, warehousing/distribution logistics for Libyan oil companies. I have provided consultancy/ workshops for local companies concerning strategic management and general management. My doctorate is linked to student retention and integration in higher education. I supervise PhD students, current supervision relates to accounting ethics, and supply chain security.

 

2. Current work

I am currently looking at strategy tools and strategfy implementation, also operations management re improvement of processes and efficiency. I am interessted in looking at how management tools are used and applied in different industry settings/context. From an educational view point in my role as MBA programme leader I am interested in the teaching methods that enhance management education. I am currently reviewing the VLE used to deliver the UWS MBA so that it can be contrasted with other MBA prgrammes/teaching methods.

 

3. Desired direction

 

I am interested in developing new management tools for strategy analysis, developing theory re strategy implementation reality. I want to also want develop teaching methods that provide a better learning experience for MBA students.
