Overview

My current work is around Cliniucal Decision Support. Recent work includes the development of a real-time monitoring playtform for diabetes, a risk assessment platform for maternity care, a self-help guide to reduce the burden on unscheduled care and an application for Anticipatory Care Planning.

I am also actively involved in serious games and have run a large number of national and international projects in this area. The most recent one isd Digital_Bridges, which has developed and evaluated a 3D simulated practice environment for health and social care.

A third strand of expertis eis in database systems, having developed the world's first commercial, portable relational system and one of the original propoers of SQL, the de facto language for relational systems.

I established SCET (Scottish Centre for Enabling Technologies) is 2007 and in the last ten years have run 300+ KE projects resulting in an increase in company turnover of £100+mill with 600+ jobs created and 1,000+ jobs safeguarded. See: http://scet.co
