Overview

Dr Temitope Bodunrin is Lecturer in Marketing at the University of the West of Scotland. Her research examines how marketplace and media representations shape identity, wellbeing, and social change, with a particular focus on Black and Global South consumer experiences.
Drawing on Transformative Consumer Research (TCR), Feminist theory, subjective personal introspection, her work has been published in Marketing Theory and Qualitative Market Research: An International Journal. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), holds a PhD in Management Studies (Marketing) from the University of Aberdeen, and a Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). She was previously the Editor-in-Chief of University of Aberdeen postgraduate interdisciplinary journal, The Granite Journal and its undergraduate equivalent, The Elphinstone Review, where she led peer review, editorial governance, and secured funding for publication.

Research interests include:

• Consumer culture, identity, and wellbeing
• Transformative Consumer Research (TCR)
• Feminist and postcolonial approaches to marketing
• Global South and African consumer markets, especially West Africa
• Digital activism and social media's role in institutional/social change
• Gender, leadership empowerment, and women's entrepreneurship
• Black diasporic media, and marketing representation
• Qualitative, introspective based research methods
