Suzanne is currently a Lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a wide range of prior experience in Higher Education around admissions, student success and academic development.
Area of academic expertise - outline
Suzanne is a PhD candidate, funded and supported by ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) and SGSS (Scottish Graduate School of Social Science) via a competitive studentship. Her PhD uses photovoice and creative methods to explore understanding of sexual consent and sex education in Scotland. Suzanne is also working on various other research projects on trauma informed pedagogy, working class academia, and teaching sensitive topics. Suzanne's research interests are in gender based violence, sexual consent, social class, and creative, qualitative methods
Current teaching activities and interests
Suzanne currently teaches and coordinates modules in Victimology, Deconstructing Crime and Criminality and Criminology and Criminal Justice Dissertations.
Suzanne is the Deputy Programme Leader and Level 10 Year Lead for the BA (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice programme.
