Susie is a Registered Nurse with an MSc in Community Nursing and has recently completed her PhD with a Thesis titled ‘Collaborative working within one Scottish Health and Social Care Integration Joint Board: A Case Study Approach’. Susie is a Programme Leader within the School of Health and Life Sciences at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

Current research activities

Susie is currently part of an interdisciplinary research team undertaking a project on Culture, Leadership and Integration.

Susie has also recently co-authored a chapter focusing on collaborative working within the Textbook of Community Nursing which was published in Jan 2025.

Desired research direction

Susie’s experience of working both as an adult nurse within the community and as an academic has motivated her interdisciplinary research interests.  These include integration within health and social care, particularly in relation to collaborative working between statutory, independent, third sector, people and their families.
