Overview

I am a lecturer in Computer Networking with the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences at The University of the West of Scotland. My previous industrial experience was in manufacturing and quality assurance.

My current research interests lie within various areas of computer and data networks and I am currently writing a proposal researching ways to combat the illegal reception of DTH satellite broadcasts.

My other areas of interest are Encapsolation Protocols, Multicasting, Network Security, Edge-to-Cloud Computing, 5G, DTH Satellite Transmission NetworksWindows and Linux.

Current research activities.

Using IP within Multi-Program Transport Streams as an Identifier for Point-to-Multipoint Conditional Broadcasts of European DVB-S/S2 DTH video and data transmissions in order to combat piracy and illegal reception.
