He has also worked as a healthcare assistant on elective and acute wards and in the community.
My research focuses on identity and my thesis, 'Development of the teaching-self in research-intensive universities' concentrated on the self-understanding of contemporary innovative academics. Therefore, central to this study is one's sense of self; the self narritives of multiple subjectivities and experiences. The study uses visualisations and Jungian focal points to emphasise academic identity.
Stephen is currently teaching across several levels and is the module coordinator for the following :
Level 8: Fundamentals of Health and social care; Assessing, Enabling and Empowering; Working in Health and social care; Health and Social Care Integration.
Level 9: Essentials of Dementia care; Effective teaching in Practice; Infection Control in Practice.
Level 10: London campus tutor and lead supervisor for the Honours Dissertation module, Leadership in Health and Social Care.
Supervisor for MSc Public Health Projects.
Stephen's interest regarding direction of research is to understand mature health students identities as they progress through their programmes of study, underpinning their learning behavours and constraints.
Stephen's also wants to focus on the identities of healthcare professionals from across medical and health-related disciplines.
