I have worked in Higher Education since 1991, when I left social work practice to undertake a research role at the University of Brighton and to complete my MBA.  Since then I have worked many Higher Education roles including teaching, research, consultancy, business development and management.  

Area of academic expertise - outline

My areas of academic expertise includes understanding the context for, and the management of, professional social work practice and relationships with people who use services. My research and teaching interests include; organisational management and leadership, supervision of the management of practice, service user voices in practice settings, and the wider policy contexts for social work and social care.

My current research interest is on service user discourses in social work supervision practice

I am currently teaching research modules (what it is and how to do it!).

My research direction is on the study of the organisation, leadership and management of supervision
