Sandro Carnicelli is the Marketing, Events and Tourism Unit Leader at the University of the West of Scotland, UK. Sandro has published articles in international journals, including Annals of Tourism Research,Tourism Management, Annals of Leisure Research, Journal of Teachingin Travel & Tourism, and World Leisure. He is also a member of the ABRATUR (International Academy for the Development of Tourism Research in Brazil), and he is on the Executive Board of the Association for British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO). Sandro is a memeber of the Royal Society of Edinburgh Young Academy of Scotland (YAS).

Sandro is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Adventure Education and Outdoor Learning, Associate Editor of Motriz - Brazilian Journal of Physical Education, he is on the Advisory Board of the Annals of Leisure Research, and on the editorial board of Tourism Management Perspectives.

- Feasibility Study on Heritage Railway (Funded by the Department of Transport)

- Research on Curriculum Design and Tourism Education based on Critical Pedagogy

- Research on Educational Philosophies

-Research on Volunteering and Mega Events

-CSR in the Tourism and Hospitality industries
