Overview

2007   PhD University of Glasgow (2007)

 

 I completed a thesis entitle ‘The Values History: A way to empower People with Dementia’. The study adopted a mixed methods approach and I interviewed people with dementia, their carers and professions. The study explored how to engage with people newly diagnosed with dementia to record their values and plan care for the future. Chapters included: memory clinics, sharing the diagnosis; discussing the prognosis; planning for the future and end of life decision making.

Overview

I am currently supervising two PhD students (2nd supervisor) and several MSc students.  Topics include; dementia, mental health nursing, technology in health and health studies.
