Dr Ripon Mahmud is a Lecturer in Accounting at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS). He joined the school of Business and Creative Industries in 2022. He is currently co-ordinates/leads Strategic Financial Management and Modelling, Accounting for Performance and Control, Research Methods for Accounting and Finance modules for MSc Accounting and Finance program. Before joining UWS he led and taught a range of accounting and finance related subject including statistics and data analysis in numerous higher education institutes such as UCL, Middlesex University, Kingston University.
Dr Mahmud holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Middlesex University for contributing by building a disclosure index and evaluating Bank Level Stability. He also holds MSc in International Accounting and Finance and BA (Hons) in Accounting and Financial Management from UK Universities. His teaching and research experience and expertise spans across, financial system, financial stability, fiscal policy, investment and financial management decisions. He has teaching and supervision experience across Masters and Undergraduate level. He has also delivered data management and data analysis workshops for research-based students. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Institute (FHEA) and received Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practices (PGcert AP). His professional memberships include British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA).
He has published articles in numerous world-renowned conference such as FEBS, EFiC, FINEST and he has article accepted by Journals. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Business Strategy and Environment. His research Interest are Banks Stability, Basel Principles and Benefits, Banking Regulations and Supervisory Mechanism, Corporate Governance, Financial Reporting and Transparency, Sustainable Banking.
