Area of academic expertise - outline

Research interests include dementia, advanced dementia, dementia education and dementia care giver support. Qualitative methodologies, knowledge exchange, improvement science, learning transfer and practitioner research.

Current research activities

Developing dementia research and enterprise within the Alzheimer Centre for Policy and Practice Centre. Rhoda collaborates extensively with Canadian colleagues and was a Visiting Research Schlar at the University of Saskatchewan in 2017. She is currently a co-invesigator on three international research grants. All based in Canada, the first is to develop education for the healthcare workforce to support family carers of seniors, the second is to develop an app to support family carers with rare dementias and the third is to develop dementia education of the qualitifed healthcare workforce. Rhoda is also co-investigator on a project to evaluate the social impact of dementia friendly walking football with Eilidh Macrae (UWS).
