Overview

Teaching and research experience in inter/multi-disciplinary product and process development. Industrial work experience in automotive, plastic product design, mould design and manufacturing. Programme Leadership for BSc Computer aided Design programme at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

Area of academic expertise - outline

Though my past work experience, I have worked with various commercial PDM/PLM systems for product design and development. Thus, I recognise various bottlenecks while working on multi-CAD/PDM/PLM environment in the supply chain. Summarising on my experience and current research portfolio, my areas of expertise are:

  • Product data/Information management in Multi-CAD/PDM environments for developing multidisciplinary products (Plastic products, Medical devices, Optical sensors, Coating systems, large structural components)
  • Product design, design optimisation and testing of above products
  • Agile product revision and legacy product data management.
  • 3-5 axis CNC machining, CAM process planning, Process simulation and verification, CNC post-processor development
  • Plastic injection mould design and mould flow simulation/analysis
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Dimensional management
  • Data modelling using EXPRESS, STEP (ISO10303), STEP-NC (ISO 14649)
  • Remanufacturing strategies/processes for circular economy
