Overview

Dr Narayan Bhattarai is a lecturer in business and management in the School of Business and Creative Industries at the University of the West of Scotland. He possesses a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Royal Holloway University of London. In addition, he has an MBA, MPhil from Tribhuvan University and the Programme in Skills of Teaching to Inspire Learning (inSTIL) from Royal Holloway. Earlier, he taught at Leeds Trinity University and Royal Holloway University business and management programme. He is a well-recognised contributor in promoting research, teaching, administrative, consultancy and enterprising activities within and beyond the United Kingdom. He has supported many small and medium firms through his industrial engagement activities, especially on the effective utilisation of digital innovation. His teaching interest lies in business and management particularly, entrepreneurship, digital business, strategies and international business.

Current research activities

Dr Bhattarai is engaged in research activities including but not limited to Professional Entrepreneurs, Migrant Entrepreneurship, Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship, Digital Transformation and Digital Business, Entrepreneurial Talent Adaptation, Digitally Empowered Entrepreneurs.

Desired research direction

Dr Bhattarai has a strong desire to expand research on entrepreneurship, strategy and international business. Best practices in the process of Business Digital transformation and major challenges in the real entrepreneurial world. Collaboratively work with entrepreneurs through research projects and help them resolve business problems as well as link business practices into the academic world. Start-ups and firms with limited resources, diasporic and transnational entrepreneurship, migrant and ethnic minority entrepreneurship.
