- Drug Discovery from different natural sources incluiding marine and terrestrial organisms. Special emphasis is given to deep Sea and hyper-arid desert microbes in addition to microbial endophytes.
- Molecular modeling and dynamics for the discovery of potential targets for bioactive natural compounds.
- Structure elucidation of natural products using advanced one- and two-dimentional NMR and different High resolution MS techniques.
- Applying different microbiological approaches such as OSMAC, microbial co-culture, and epigenetic modifiers for induction and isolation of novel microbial secondary metabolites from “cryptic gene clusters”.
- Purification of complex mixtures of natural products using diverse chromatographic approaches mainly preparative HPLC and other chromatographic techniques such as VLC, SEC, SPE, and flash system.
- GCMS analysis of volatile organic compounds from micro-organisms.
