Personal profile
Overview
I am a Lecturer in Business Management at the School of Business and Creative Industries. I hold a PhD in Occupational Health Psychology and Management from the University of Nottingham. My PhD research focused on exploring Occupational Safety and Health challenges and priorities in Kenya.
I am a member of the Centre for African Research on Enterprise and Economic Development at UWS, where I am actively involved in their research activities. I am interested in researching on themes covering the following areas: Gender differences in attitudes towards health and well-being at work; Emotional labour and its impact on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace; Inequalities in psychosocial health support and care; and psychosocial support and care for employees returning to work after health related (and maternity) leave from work.
My career goal is to expand my research portfolio within my area of specialisation and other related areas in behavioural science management. Further, I would like to contribute to making an impact on various societal aspects that will help to improve psychosocial health and wellbeing across different demographic groups. I am also keen on utilising research to provide evidence-based solutions to real life problems. This includes designing evidence-based training programs to help enlighten and empower members of a community.
