Dr Maria Pollard is Deputy Dean, School of Health, Nursing and Midwifery and is a registered midwife and registered nurse. She is also a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

Maria provides leadership and coordination of the School's portfolio of programmes to ensure growth and sustainability of the commissioned health, nursing and midwifery provision. She has a particular focus on statutory and regulatory issues related to professional programmes to ensure student engagement and success, quality assurance and enhancement and employability . She has a significant external profile with strong strategic partnersips with key external agencies including statutory bodes, regulators, professional bodies and other higher education institutuions.
