Prior to moving into Higher Education I was an acute clinical nurse working in a variety of healthcare establishments from NHS to Private Health. I trained at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, College of Nursing in 1980. I have a wide range of clinical experience ICU/HDU/CCU/Cardiothoracic.
I have worked internationally in Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA, France, Italy and other countries. During this time I was also the private nurse for the King of Saudi Arabia and was a member of the Middle East disater team.
I progressed from a Staff Nurse to a Clinical Nurse Manager, Clinical Educator and Advanced Nurse Practitioner prior to moving into Higher Education in 2004.
I am a lecturer within the BSc Adult/Mental Health nursing programme and also the MSc Adult/Mental Health nursing programme. My roles are BSc Adult Nursing, Depute Programme Lead, module coordinator, moderator, year lead, SSLG adult lead, SEG, Erasmus Link and others.
