Lisa Roy worked as an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse prior to coming to UWS Paisley to teach on the BSc Adult Nursing.
Lisa began her career as a registered adult nurse in 2006 after graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University. After completing a rotatation of medical wards in NHS Greater Galsgow and Clyde Lisa moved onto the Glasgow Nuffield Hospital in 2007 where she completed her infection prevention and control link nurse programme. This led to a keen interest in infection prevention and control resulting in Lisa moving to a seconded post with the infection prevention and control team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde before moving onto a substantive post in NHS Lanarkshire in 2010.
Within NHS Lanarkshire Lisa worked in both an acute and and primary care setting. Providing specialist infection prevention and control advice. During this time Lisa got the opportunity to move into a senior infection prevention and control nurse post. Lisa also completed her MSc Advanced Practice in Infection Prevention and Disease Control at Dundee University.
