Dr Isuru Koswatte is a lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Business and Management specialising in organizational resilience, entrepreneurship and business sustainability with active international collaborative research.
He is also an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at NSBM Green University in Sri Lanka collaborating and managing several international level projects and research related activities.
He completed his PhD from the University of Manchester in 2020 and is skilled in Mixed Method Research, Structure Equation Modelling and qualitative research.
He was also part of the The Nordic Research School of International Business which offered several doctoral courses in International Business at seven business schools in the Northern European countries, including Aalto University (Finland), BI Norwegian Business School (Norway), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Leeds University (UK), University of Gothenburg (Sweden), University of Manchester (UK), and Uppsala University (Sweden).
He is presently an associate member of National Centre for Resilience, a cross sector partnership spanning Scottish universities, government and practice. He is also a member of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network in Scotland as well as a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB).
Before UWS, he was the head of research at NSBM Green University in Sri Lanka. His teaching comprises a range of modules in the field of Business and Management including Multinational Performance, Organizations in societies and Business Research methods.
Experienced in the fields of International Business, Organizational resilience, sustainability and entrepreneurship
Current research activities include work on PLS-SEM and NCA methodologies and its application, Crisis management and developing entrepreneurial resilience, the role of resilince in SDGs and how leadership is linked with resilience deveopment. The understanding of the above topics are expanded from the Global South to the UK context and in particular focusing on the SME sector and development
He is also involved in several international research collaborations working as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at NSBM Green University
He was recently awarded the Vice Chancellor's Studentship 2023 for his research project on Leadership and SMEs
In July 2021 he was awarded a research grant from NSBM Green University in Sri Lanka for the project 'Technology, religion and entreprenuership ' done in partnership with the University of Liverpool and the University of Dundee with an award value of £3000.

I am hoping to expand my research work towards resilience building and the role of entreprenuership and leadership in this overall process
I hope to expand the resilience development capabilities with governmental and non-governmental orgnizations. Aiming to find avenues to work with the Scottish Government arm for resilince building "Ready Scotland"
Isuru also has a wide understanding of entrepreneurial startups and also runs several guest lecture sessions at OP Jindal Global Business School in India on issues surrounding challenges for business startups and how to build entrepreneurial resilience
