I am registered adult nurse and nurse teacher with a background mainly Accident and Emergency where I worked for 6 years. I have also worked as a staff nurse in Oncology and volunteered in different health settings abroad in Bolivia and South Africa. I joined the University of the West of Scotland in 2013 as a teaching fellow and am now working as a lecturer teaching on the BSc Adult Nursing Programme. I mainly teach in year 2 and am the site lead for different modules.
My aim is to progress with my doctoral studies. I aim to complete in 2020 and publish from ongoing work.
I am currently involved with a multidisciplinary study on the impact of anxiety on enzyme function. Cortisol levels and immune cell responses in individuals with anxiety, pre and post cognitive behavioural therapy sessions will be analysed.
