Overview

Dr. Fatema Jahan is a lecture in the School of Education and Social Sciences. She completed MSc degree in ‘Gender, Development and Globalisation’ from London School of Economic and Political Science (LSE). She obtained her PhD degree in ‘Human Geography’ from University College London (UCL). Before joining UWS, she worked as an Affiliate Academic Visitor at UCL. She also served as lecturer and Associate Professor in Women and Gender Studies at University of Dhaka for more than a decade.

Gender and Public Policy, Labour Market, Comparative Politics, International Political Economy, Globalisation, State and Neoliberalism, Gender, Class and Racial Inequality.

Current teaching activities and interests

I am currently teaching and co-ordinating two modules for MPA:

a) Comparative Governance and Public Administration

b) The State in a Global Order
